End tables make the qunitessentially perfect start to completing a living room decorating theme with a small personal flourish.
End tables are perhaps the perfect home
decor accent or accessory, available in a multitude of styles, finishes, materials, shapes and colors to suit any budget or taste.
Ideally and typically approximately twenty inches in height, tables can be paired
as with bookends, or contrasting in style to provide the warmth the subtle added warmth that is also a touch whimsical and eclectic as well.
End tables, however, are not to be confused with side or console tables as their roles can offer differ dramatically.
While the latter may stand in isolation, as intended, drawing and focusing the eye on a piece of bric-a-bric imported from faraway worlds, or cherished
objets d’art divined and spirited away from an artisan's small studio in Paris or Murano, end tables are ultimately social decor and shouldn’t be
stranded or left unto themselves.

End tables do however do far, far more than just sit pretty, offering a
place to host a drink, or a small, convenient space for added storage to tuck unsightly things away.
End tables are typically rectangular, square or round and can be, as with most other living room furniture, modern, traditional or transitional.
Traditional
tables tend to feature darker wood finishes and really heavily on wood as their primary composition material.
Metal tables are also becoming increasingly more popular featuring clear, smoked or tempered glass tops.
Elements of traditional and modern can be mixed gracefully as can tables of differing heights, as long as a sense of space and balance is respected and maintained.
End tables are, in the end, only the beginning when it comes to providing the finishing touch for your living room decor.
