Kids furniture is a whole other ballgame, or rodeo, or construction site, or tea party and occasionally out of this world.
In fact open the door to
a child’s room and you may well discover it’s a jungle in there, quite literally and quite aside from the unmade bed, the toys scattered throughout and the clothing
from end to end.
Kids are afterall, kids and kids furniture needs to be safe, durable enough to last more than a few years, provide added storage, and of course be
adaptive and imaginative enough to convert from a bed to a pirate’s ship with the hoisting of the main sheet, er, sail.
Kids furniture can be purchased all at once as a full bedrom set or it can be purchased piece by piece.
And beyond safety, the proportion and scale of the room should be among your foremost considerations.

Ideally kids furniture should be grouped within the room in well thought out and created with a sense of distinct zones throughout the space.
A zone for sleeping, a zone for seating, a play zone and a task zone. In toddler years, the task zone should be an area fostering creativity.
In later years, a homework area is ideal for this zone.
When it comes to kids furniture and furnishings within the room a couple of oversights are common.
Don’t overlook the flooring. Aside from perhaps the bed, the
floor will be the most used element within the room. Wall to wall carpeting is actually not idea. An area rug that can be easily and frequently cleaned is
recommended, or hardwood flooring.
Additionally there will never be enough storage. Take into consideration toys and clothing in early years, but also books,
videos and games in later years.
